Our patient portal is hosted by athenahealth. Their handling of information submitted through the portal is governed by their own agreements with us and their privacy notice.

If the information you submit qualifies as PHI under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), we handle it in accordance with HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, which supersedes this Website policy for any conflict involving PHI. Please do not send sensitive clinical details through the general contact form.

Our practices for text messages — including consent, message types, and opt-out — are described in our SMS Opt-Out Policy. Email is not a fully secure channel; do not include sensitive clinical information in email unless you have accepted the risks or are using a secure method we provide.
